Each piece of this amazing driftwood is clearly an accent for any pond.

The wood is hand selected by divers searching the waters of Louisiana Bayou. Most of it is Louisiana Cypress which was discarded during the construction of New Orleans. The cypress wood resists rot and decay yet ages with distinction while underwater. Once brought to the surface, it is examined for its stability and thoroughly cleaned. Then it is mounted on Vermont slate in a aesthetically pleasing arrangement.

Yes, the divers are all too familiar with the snakes and alligators which infest these Bayou waters. As the head diver told me, "You have to know when to stay still, when to get back in the boat or when it's best tojust plain leave an area until another day!" This team of divers are dedicated to their work!

Placed on the side of a pond or on a shallow shelf, Bayou Pond Art adds an element of height and interest to the aquascape. The Bayou wood may be surrounded by plants or be an anchor point for a variety of creeping plants such as parrot's feather or lemon bacopa. Of special interest are the stream art pieces. Here the center of a log has been removed and a water return from your pump may be placed at the far end.

The resulting flow of water creates a peaceful return of the water to your pond. With its shallow depth, the water provides a natural environment for birds and butterflies to drink. This provides a creative alternative to water returning over rocks.
