May 7, 2005 - “Chop and Pot – Dividing Your Water Plants” 9:00 am - 10:00 am

Learn how divide your overgrown lilies, lotus and other water plants. We will demonstrate on actual plants and review different soils, pot types and fertilizers.

Saturday, May 14, 2005 – “Disappearing Waterfalls, A “Pondless” Water Feature. 9:00 am – 10:00am

If pond maintenance does not fit into your busy schedule or concerns about open water and children are on your mind, then this water feature may be for you. We will review the technique of building a Disappearing Waterfalls as well as looking at one under construction at Bergen Water Gardens.

Thursday, May 19, 2005 – “Pond Construction – Tips on Building Your Own Pond” 7:00pm – 8:00pm

Location, the hole, shelves, the liner, pumps, a waterfall, dry pockets and basic maintenance will all be discussed in this program.

Saturday, May 21, 2005 – “Water Plants for your Pond” 9:00 am – 10:00 am

This will be a basic introduction to our favorite water lilies, lotus, marginal and submerged plants for your pond. Location and light levels will be discussed for each variety. Special emphasis will be given to plants which do better in lower light levels.

Saturday, May 28, 2005 – “Pond Filtration and Fish Care” 9:00 am – 10:00 am

Confused about whether to filter or not to filter? What type? How many gallons per hour? Do I want fish for my pond? What kinds of fish are best for my pond in Western New York? How do I keep my fish healthy? What do I keep in Fish Emergency First Aid Kit? Join us for answers to these questions and more!
